Harlequin's Bluff Logo

In this photo, Anna Azzopardi makes her appearance as perhaps HB's first 'groupie', the paint having hardly dried on the logo on our Bass drum. Anna was later followed by more permanent groupies, still later wives (Josette & Belle)

The Band In Action .. Does anyone remember where we were here? ... Here are Joe's Comments. Its becoming a little like a blog here LOL

Frank ( rhythm), Pat (Bass); Belle Mamo-Dingli, vocals. With Andre on his usual 12-lead and Joe probably banging away at the drums.

One of our historic rehearsals captured in glorious Wreck-Me-Colour! Frank taps, Andre' warbles, Pat plucks and Joe poses.

Perhaps this session was a washout, hence our loss of colour in this snap.

This is a graphic record of the equipment we used during one of our recording sessions. The famous OJS system is in full view with its recording mikes mounted on Kee Klamp bases and telescopic tubes and its twin stereoscopic speakers on the right. Then there are the little accessories which include two mikes attached to the Scala Amplifier, and my other amplifier the WEM, which also had a tremolo foot switch but which was omitted. In the foreground lying with its cover partially to the side, is Patrick & Joe's Red cased reel to reel tape recorder with its distinctive blue hornshaped mike, and my Philips Cassette recorder.

Our Equipment and the OJS system on display

So we actually recorded onto three sources Large reel, small reel and cassette, a luxury not even afforted by the Beetles

Finally the instruments themselves, starting from Pat's Bass with its pick-up visible in the rosella hole, Joe's green rhythm guitar, and my 12 string Eko. Frank's Drum kit, the Premier set as complete as it was with the gold coloured snare drum.

A recent re-union 2006 for HB members of the band was held at Frank's place in Rabat.

Here, Frank is barbecuing some tasty morsels.
