UEFA CUP 1963 ? not quite ... a bit more like a Don Bosco's Poorly Boys ensemble

Thanks to George, we've started a gossip corner over this picture, and the match score doesn't tally either !

George Arrigo - "A group picture of the football match between SMC vs De La Salle cubs/scouts ending in a 4-3 win in our favour.

I can recall from top left standing:- Mifsud(I think), Brian Rosso, Tony Balzan, Patrick Camilleri, Ray Aqius, Ray Pandolfino bottom left: me, Eric Cuschieri, Raymond Micallef. Maybe Patrick might recognize some others. This football match was reported in the sports pages of the Times of Malta."

Oswald: "The SMC  scouts/ cubs team are wearing horizontal striped gear. So when you read the names indicated by George,  you have to follow the striped gear, which then would read:

Left to right Standing: (1) Mifsud, (3) Brian Rosso, (5) Tony Balzan, (7) Patrick Camilleri,  (10) Ray Agius ?  (12) Ray Pandolfino – or Chris Pandolfino ? Squatting L to R: (1) George Arrigo, (3) Eric Cuschieri  and (7) Raymond Micallef.  At the end of the line (11) is it Sunny Micallef ?.

Webmaster's note: Second from left, to my knowledge is not Brian, and I think Ray Agius would be Ray Grech Marguerat... Squatting, I remember Eric yes, but his surname was Borg as far as I remember not Cuschieri, he was also in our class, Patrick's and mine. John McNeill is wearing the white SMC shirt.

Ray Pandolfino the last boy standing in striped shirt, is the elder of two boys, his younger sibling Steve. Im afraid the last boy squatting is not Sunny Micallef either

Patrick: "I’ve got the same football picture.  On the back I wrote:Cubs football match.  Stella Maris College Group vs De La Salle Group.  We drew 2-2. Our cubs in striped jerseys, (at our school)"
