SUMMER CAMP - XEMXIJA COURTESY OF GEORGE
|
George Arrigo " This is from a Camp at Xemxija, today there is the nature reserve. The back of the picture is today built up. The Union Jack still flying, I don’t think anybody has produced any pictures of any Xemxija camps yet" George is quite correct about the development in the area. Today this area is no longer a virgin hillside, but a totally built-up area. Location: is-Simar

An undated Photo of an Ghadira camp: George - "This camp is probably one of our first camps at Mellieha. The Mellieha Bay Hotel now stands on this site. From left standing, me, Paul Portelli, Ray Pandolfino, Brian Rosso, Camenzuli, Mousu, the rest I cannot recall. Webmaster - Is that Grant Anderson there behind Antoine?) anyone knows? This camp was reported on The Times of Malta with another picture. One can also notice that we used travelling luggage for this camp, since it was our first one and we didn't have any army type bags, the "pickless"-type yet." |
Courtesy of George Arrigo Patrick - "I believe the summer camp at Ghadira in George’s pictures is the 1968 summer camp. Perhaps others can confirm"

A Day at Devil's House
A day's expedition, camp and cooking away from the main camp. We discovered a well close by, it was was four lanyards deep. The water was so cool.
